The Yash‑led film ‘Toxic’ saw its Indian earnings plunge by 70% on its second day, signalling a probable box‑office failure, according to Bollywood Hungama.
The Kannada star Yash headlined the new release ‘Toxic’, which opened across India earlier this week. Initial reports suggested a modest opening, but the film’s performance quickly drew attention.
On its second day of exhibition, the movie’s domestic collections fell by roughly 70 percent, a sharp decline that industry trackers interpret as a sign of weak audience reception.
Bollywood Hungama flagged the steep drop as an indicator that ‘Toxic’ may turn into a box‑office disaster, a prognosis that could affect the film’s future theatrical run and ancillary revenue prospects.
Analysts note that such a rapid earnings contraction typically reflects poor word‑of‑mouth and limited repeat viewership, factors that can derail a film’s commercial trajectory.
The situation underscores the volatility of the Indian market, where even films featuring high‑profile stars can struggle to sustain momentum beyond opening day.
