A lone wild elephant, separated from its herd, entered the Keshwaahi forest area of Shahdol in Madhya Pradesh on Monday, prompting local officials to mobilize teams to monitor the animal.
A lone wild elephant was sighted in the Keshwaahi forest area of Shahdol on Monday morning, having strayed from its herd on a route heading toward Chhattisgarh.
The animal was found in the Tendu Tola region of the forest, a known habitat for elephants but rarely visited by solitary individuals.
In response, local forest officials and police teams were dispatched to the site to monitor the elephant’s movements and ensure the safety of nearby villages.
Wildlife experts note that such solitary wanderings can pose risks to both the animal and human communities, and authorities are keeping a close watch for any further incidents.
