WhatsApp launches custom chat filter to organise important messages and unread group chats

WhatsApp has rolled out a new custom chat filter feature in its recent global update, aimed at helping users organise their conversations more efficiently. The addition enables users to tag and categorise important messages as well as highlight unread group chats for quick access.

The custom filter can be accessed from the chat list screen, where users can create personalised categories and assign chats to them. Once set, the filtered view displays only the selected conversations, making it easier to focus on priority messages without scrolling through the entire chat history.

By simplifying message management, the feature is expected to improve user experience, especially for those handling multiple group chats and important personal conversations on the platform.
