WhatsApp Blocks Screenshot of Profile Pictures to Protect User Privacy
WhatsApp has rolled out a mandatory security feature across Android and iOS that prevents users from taking screenshots of other users' profile pictures, aiming to safeguard personal safety and privacy.
WhatsApp announced a new mandatory security feature that blocks screenshot capture of profile pictures on all Android and iOS devices. The move is aimed at protecting user privacy and personal safety.
The feature, which is now rolled out globally, will prevent any attempt to capture a screenshot of another user's profile picture. It is part of WhatsApp's broader efforts to enhance security and privacy for its users.
The update is available to all users immediately and does not affect other functionalities of the app. Users who previously could capture screenshots will find that the feature is now disabled.
WhatsApp said the decision comes after growing concerns over privacy breaches and misuse of profile images. The company remains committed to providing a secure messaging experience.
