West Bengal has decided to implement the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, making it the 36th state or union territory to adopt the national health insurance scheme.
The West Bengal government has announced its decision to join the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY).
With this move, the state will become the 36th state or union territory to implement the central government's flagship health insurance scheme.
PM-JAY offers cashless healthcare services for eligible families.
Officials said the integration will expand access to quality medical services for the state's residents and support the goal of universal health coverage.
