Authorities have barred VIPs from entering the Baglamukhi Devi temple in Maihar, while around 700 security personnel have been deployed to manage the crowd and ensure safety.

Authorities in Madhya Pradesh have stopped VIP access to the Baglamukhi Devi temple in Maihar as part of heightened security measures. The decision was taken after officials assessed the large influx of devotees expected at the shrine.
The temple, a major pilgrimage site in the region, draws thousands of worshippers, especially during festival periods. To prevent overcrowding and potential disturbances, the administration has directed that only regular pilgrims be allowed entry, while special guests and dignitaries are to be redirected.
In response, roughly 700 security personnel, including police and local volunteers, have been deployed around the temple complex and surrounding areas. The forces are tasked with crowd control, traffic management, and rapid response to any untoward incident.
Officials said the deployment aims to ensure a safe and orderly environment for devotees, without compromising the sanctity of the religious rites. The move reflects a broader effort by state authorities to balance pilgrimage fervor with public safety.
The restriction on VIP entry is expected to remain in place until the authorities deem the situation stable, after which normal protocols may resume.
