Vinicius Jr receives four‑match suspension, will miss El Clásico

The La Liga disciplinary committee has imposed a four‑match ban on Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jr after he was found to have pulled an opponent’s hair during a league match earlier this month. The sanction follows a video review that confirmed the contact was deliberate and breached the competition’s conduct rules.

Vinicius, who has been a key attacking outlet for Madrid this season, will therefore miss the highly anticipated El Clásico against Barcelona, scheduled for next weekend. His absence removes one of the most dynamic players from a fixture that already carries intense rivalry and global viewership.

Real Madrid’s club statement expressed disappointment but affirmed respect for the governing body’s decision. The team will rely on other attacking options as they prepare for the derby, while Vinicius retains the right to appeal the ruling within the prescribed timeframe.

The incident adds to a series of disciplinary actions in recent weeks, highlighting La Liga’s stricter enforcement of on‑field behavior to maintain sportsmanship.
