Vijeta Dahiya Dismissed as Chief Justice Spokesperson After Dipke Call

✍️ Hindustan Times 🗓 23 Jul 2026, 11:09 AM 👁 6

Former spokesperson for the Chief Justice of India, Vijeta Dahiya, was sacked after a phone call with Dipke, the Chief Justice’s aide, in which Dipke advised her not to attend the Jantar Mantar protest.

Vijeta Dahiya, who had served as the spokesperson for the Chief Justice of India, was dismissed from her post earlier this week.

In a recent interview with the Hindustan Times, Dahiya recalled a phone conversation with Dipke, the Chief Justice’s aide, before Dipke left for the Jantar Mantar protest site. During the call, Dipke instructed her not to attend the protest.

Dahiya said that her dismissal followed her public remarks about the incident, and that the Chief Justice’s office has not yet released an official statement.

The episode has raised questions about the independence of the judiciary and the role of spokespersons in communicating with the public.
