The mining conglomerate Vedanta has called on the Odisha state administration to speed up approval of investment projects worth about ₹1 trillion.

Vedanta Ltd, one of India's leading mining and metals companies, has formally urged the Odisha government to accelerate the clearance of investment proposals that together total roughly ₹1 trillion. The company says that swift approvals are essential to maintain project timelines and to attract the capital needed for large‑scale operations in the state.

The conglomerate highlighted that the pending projects span several sectors, including mineral extraction, processing facilities, and ancillary infrastructure. Vedanta argues that expediting these proposals will not only bolster the state's industrial output but also generate significant employment opportunities for the local workforce.

Odisha officials have not yet responded publicly to Vedanta's request. The state has been promoting a business‑friendly environment to draw high‑value investments, and the company's appeal underscores the importance of regulatory efficiency in achieving those goals.

If the proposals move forward as anticipated, the projected investment could position Odisha as a major hub for mining and related industries, reinforcing its contribution to India's overall economic growth.
