V. D. Satheesan, a senior Congress leader, was sworn in as Kerala’s Chief Minister today, alongside 20 cabinet ministers, marking the start of a new government.
V. D. Satheesan, a senior leader of the Indian National Congress, was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Kerala on Tuesday. The oath ceremony took place at the Kerala Legislative Assembly in Thiruvananthapuram, where Satheesan took the oath under the Constitution of India.
Alongside Satheesan, twenty ministers were also sworn in to form the new cabinet. The ministers represent the coalition partners that supported the Congress-led government in the recent state elections.
The oath marks the beginning of Satheesan’s term as the head of the Kerala government. The newly formed cabinet will now begin to implement its policy agenda and work on the state’s development plans.
The ceremony was attended by senior political leaders, members of the assembly and various dignitaries, all of whom congratulated Satheesan on his appointment.
