Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced that the state will stage a 100‑mile Himalayan Endurance Ultra Run from Mana Pass to Auli in May, marking a first for the region.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said Uttarakhand will host a 100‑mile Himalayan Endurance Ultra Run, starting from the high‑altitude Mana Pass and finishing at the ski resort town of Auli next May. The ultra‑marathon, spanning rugged terrain across the Greater Himalayas, is being positioned as a premier endurance event in the country.
Organisers expect elite ultra‑runners from India and abroad to take part, with the route covering steep ascents, narrow ridgelines and variable weather conditions typical of the region. Safety measures, including medical support teams and altitude acclimatization protocols, are being put in place to manage the challenges of the high‑altitude course.
