Uttarakhand election authorities have deleted around 1.7 million names from the voter list following the Summary of Inclusion Revision. A special enrollment drive will begin on October 8 to add eligible voters who were omitted.
The Uttarakhand election office carried out a large-scale deletion of voter names after completing the Summary of Inclusion Revision (SIR). Approximately 1.7 million entries were removed from the electoral rolls.
The deletions aimed to remove duplicate, ineligible or outdated entries, thereby improving the accuracy of the voter list ahead of forthcoming elections.
To correct any genuine omissions, a special voter inclusion drive will commence on October 8. Eligible citizens who were missed can submit applications to have their names added during this drive.
The drive will be conducted across all districts of the state, with enrollment booths set up at designated locations to facilitate the process.
