Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami outlined a comprehensive development roadmap for Uttarakhand at the Economic Times World Leadership Forum 2026. The plan emphasizes the launch of a Unified Credit Card (UCC) scheme aimed at streamlining financial services for residents and tourists alike.
In parallel, the government announced the approval of multiple expressway projects that will connect major hill districts with the state's low-lying regions, reducing travel time and boosting trade.
The proposals are slated for detailed feasibility studies within the next three months, with funding expected from a mix of state allocations and central government grants. Dhami assured that the initiatives will create jobs and improve connectivity without compromising the fragile Himalayan ecology.
Stakeholders, including local business groups and environmental NGOs, have been invited to provide feedback before the final blueprint is submitted to the state cabinet for approval.
