Uttarakhand CM Dhami Mourns Uttarkashi Car Accident, Prays for Injured's Recovery

A car crash on a road near Uttarkashi on Thursday injured a passenger, prompting Uttarakhand Chief Minister Dharmendra Prasad Dhami to express his grief publicly. Dhami, who was in the state to attend a local event, visited the site of the incident and spoke with the injured individual and their family. "I am deeply saddened by this accident," Dhami said, adding that he would pray for the victim’s swift recovery.

The accident, which occurred on a winding stretch of the Uttarkashi–Kashipur highway, left the passenger with serious injuries. Local police have taken over the investigation, and the injured person is being treated at a nearby hospital. Dhami urged authorities to ensure that road safety measures are strengthened in the region.

The CM’s statement was shared on the state government’s official social media channels, and he called on residents to exercise caution while driving in the hilly terrain. The incident has drawn attention to the need for better road infrastructure and emergency response services in Uttarakhand’s mountainous districts.
