Uttar Pradesh has been placed on alert ahead of Cyclone Arnab, with the state government under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath coordinating rescue and relief measures.

The meteorological department has issued a warning that Cyclone Arnab is expected to affect parts of Uttar Pradesh within the next 48 hours. Heavy rains, strong winds and possible flooding are forecasted along the state's eastern districts.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's administration has activated its disaster management protocol, deploying teams of the State Disaster Response Force and the National Disaster Response Force to vulnerable areas. Temporary shelters are being set up in schools and community halls, and relief kits containing food, water, and medical supplies are being pre‑positioned.

The state government has also instructed district officials to ensure that power lines are insulated and that evacuation routes are cleared. Residents in low‑lying zones have been urged to stay indoors and follow instructions from local authorities.

Authorities are monitoring the cyclone's trajectory closely and will issue further advisories as the situation evolves. The focus remains on minimizing loss of life and property through coordinated preparedness measures.
