Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced a Rs 1,725 crore employment initiative that will create skill zones across 75 districts of the state.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath formally launched a new employment programme valued at Rs 1,725 crore. The scheme is designed to generate jobs by establishing dedicated skill zones in 75 districts across the state.
The skill zones will focus on vocational training and industry‑specific upskilling, aiming to match local labour supply with the needs of emerging sectors. Funding for the initiative will be drawn from the state’s budget, with implementation to be overseen by the Department of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
State officials said the programme will be rolled out in phases, beginning with pilot zones in districts that have high unemployment rates. The government expects the scheme to create a significant number of sustainable jobs and improve the employability of youth and unskilled workers.
Yogi Adityanath emphasized that the initiative aligns with the broader goal of making Uttar Pradesh a hub for skilled labour, thereby attracting investment and fostering economic growth.
The launch marks one of the largest state‑level employment drives in recent years, reflecting the administration’s focus on job creation ahead of upcoming national elections.
