Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister inaugurated the LEXQ Center of Excellence, emphasizing that AI should serve under human judgment. The launch also introduced several next‑generation technology initiatives in the state.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the newly created LEXQ Center of Excellence on Thursday, marking the state's latest push into advanced technology research. The centre, set up under the state government's innovation drive, will focus on developing artificial intelligence solutions that complement, rather than replace, human decision‑making.
During the ceremony, the CM stressed that while AI can enhance efficiency, ultimate discretion must remain with people, especially in critical sectors such as health, law enforcement and public administration. He warned against over‑reliance on automated systems and called for robust ethical guidelines.
The inauguration also unveiled a suite of next‑generation initiatives, including a data analytics lab, a robotics incubation hub and a scholarship programme for students pursuing AI and machine‑learning studies. Officials said the projects aim to create skilled jobs and position Uttar Pradesh as a leader in responsible tech development.
State officials indicated that the LEXQ Centre will collaborate with academic institutions and industry partners to pilot AI applications in real‑world scenarios, ensuring transparency and accountability at each stage.
The launch reflects the broader national conversation on balancing technological progress with human oversight, a theme the CM said will guide Uttar Pradesh's future digital policies.
