Uttar Pradesh and Japan’s Yamanashi prefecture signed four memoranda of understanding and announced a ₹600‑crore fund to boost micro, small and medium enterprises in the state.
The government of Uttar Pradesh and officials from Japan’s Yamanashi prefecture concluded a bilateral meeting in which four memoranda of understanding were signed. The agreements are aimed at deepening cooperation across sectors that can benefit the state’s economic landscape.
A key outcome of the talks was the unveiling of a dedicated fund of ₹600 crore for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Uttar Pradesh. The fund is intended to provide financial support, encourage entrepreneurship and enhance the competitiveness of local businesses.
Both sides highlighted the importance of the partnership in fostering technology transfer, skill development and market access for MSMEs. The MoUs and the fund are expected to create new opportunities for Indian entrepreneurs while strengthening ties with Japan’s Yamanashi region.
