Uttar Pradesh Allows Government Doctors to Serve Until Age 70

Uttar Pradesh's health administration has introduced a new provision permitting doctors in the state civil service to extend their tenure until the age of 70, beyond the usual retirement threshold. The scheme is voluntary and is open to doctors who have already retired but wish to continue contributing to public health services. Eligibility will be determined by the health department based on factors such as medical fitness and the availability of positions. Officials said the extension will be on a contractual basis and will not alter the pension benefits already accrued by the doctors.
