US and Russian officials are reportedly linking a ceasefire in Ukraine to a large oil agreement involving Lukoil's worldwide assets, pending approval from both governments.
US and Russia are reportedly negotiating a ceasefire in Ukraine, with the latest talks now incorporating a substantial oil agreement. The deal would grant Russia access to Lukoil’s extensive network of oil fields, refineries and gas stations worldwide. Approval of the pact is contingent on both the U.S. government and the Kremlin giving their consent. Analysts suggest that linking the conflict resolution to an energy transaction could reshape geopolitical and economic dynamics in the region.
