The U.S. Coast Guard has launched a search operation after a Gulfstream jet en route to Boston disappeared off the coast of Nantucket.
A Gulfstream business jet scheduled to fly from an unspecified origin to Boston vanished from radar shortly after crossing the waters off Nantucket, Massachusetts. The aircraft was reported missing early Thursday, prompting immediate alerts from aviation authorities.
The U.S. Coast Guard responded by deploying multiple assets, including cutter vessels, helicopters, and fixed‑wing aircraft, to sweep the area. Search teams are coordinating with the Federal Aviation Administration and local law‑enforcement agencies to pinpoint the jet's last known position.
Investigators have not yet identified any distress signals or debris, and no casualties have been confirmed. The Coast Guard continues to broaden the search perimeter while analyzing satellite and radar data for clues.
Authorities have warned that adverse weather and strong currents in the Atlantic could complicate recovery efforts, and the investigation will remain ongoing until the aircraft is located or the cause of the disappearance is determined.
