U.S. Ambassador Sergio Gor attended the opening of the Yudh Abhyas 2026 joint military exercise between India and the United States, held in Rajasthan.
New Delhi – U.S. Ambassador Sergio Gor was present as Indian and American troops kicked off the Yudh Abhyas 2026 joint exercise in Rajasthan. The high‑visibility drill, part of an annual bilateral training programme, brings together infantry, artillery and aviation units from both nations to sharpen interoperability on desert terrain.
During the opening ceremony, Ambassador Gor inspected the staging area, observed live‑fire simulations and interacted with senior officers from the Indian Army and U.S. Indo‑Pacific Command. The exercise is designed to enhance tactical coordination, logistics sharing and joint command‑and‑control procedures.
Officials said the 2026 edition will run for several weeks, covering maneuvers across the arid zones of western Rajasthan. Both sides view the drill as a confidence‑building measure that underlines the deepening defence partnership between New Delhi and Washington.
