Uttar Pradesh police have busted a honeytrap operation that was used to file false rape and caste‑based complaints, leading to the arrest of twelve individuals.
Acting on specific intelligence, Uttar Pradesh police uncovered a network that created fake online profiles to lure unsuspecting individuals. Once contact was established, the gang allegedly threatened victims with false rape and caste‑based allegations to extort money.
