The Uttar Pradesh Board will use QR‑coded answer sheets for the 2027 Class X and XII examinations, featuring distinct colour coding and enhanced security measures.
The Uttar Pradesh Board announced that answer sheets for the 2027 Class X and Class XII board examinations will carry a QR code printed on each sheet. The QR code links to a secure database that verifies the authenticity of the sheet and records its issuance details, aiming to curb malpractice.
Each subject’s answer booklet will be printed in a specific colour, allowing invigilators to quickly identify the correct paper and reducing the chance of mix‑ups during the exam. The colour scheme has been standardised across all schools affiliated with the board.
Additional security features include micro‑text watermarks, tamper‑evident seals and a serial number that can be cross‑checked online. The board has instructed schools to adopt the new sheets from the upcoming March 2027 examination session.
Officials said the move aligns with the board’s broader digitalisation drive and will simplify result processing, as the QR data can be scanned directly into the evaluation system.
