Ujjain: Mahakal Temple Observes Shravan Somwar

The Shravan Somwar is a significant day for devotees of Lord Mahakal in Ujjain. It is believed that on this day, Lord Mahakal himself observes a fast and goes on a city tour. The temple witnesses a huge influx of devotees on this day. A special puja and aartis are performed at the temple, followed by the offering of fruits and other edible items as bhog. The devotees also observe a fast on this day and visit the temple to seek the blessings of Lord Mahakal.
