Ujjain Food Dept Suspends Nema Kulfi Centre License After Hygiene Raid

Ujjain’s food safety officials launched a surprise inspection of sweet and kulfi shops in the city as the Shravan festival approached. Inspectors found significant lapses in cleanliness and non‑compliance with statutory standards at several outlets. The most serious breach was recorded at Nema Kulfi Centre, where unhygienic conditions prompted the department to suspend its operating licence immediately. In addition to the raid, the team collected product samples from multiple establishments for laboratory testing to ensure consumer safety. The department has warned other vendors that regular checks will continue throughout the festive period to protect public health.
