Ujjain‑based engineer Punit Badeka and his startup EoN Space Labs successfully launched a 502‑gram ‘Mira’ camera into low‑Earth orbit aboard a SpaceX Falcon‑9 rocket.
Ujjain engineer Punit Badeka, founder of the deep‑tech startup EoN Space Labs, has achieved a milestone in India’s space sector by successfully launching a 502‑gram ‘Mira’ camera into low‑Earth orbit.
The payload was carried aboard a SpaceX Falcon‑9 rocket, which launched from Cape Canaveral on a scheduled mission that also carried other commercial satellites.
EoN Space Labs had designed the camera to operate in the harsh conditions of space, aiming to provide high‑resolution imaging for scientific and commercial applications.
The launch marks the first time an Indian‑made camera from a private company has entered orbit, underscoring the growing capabilities of India’s private space industry.
Officials from the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) praised the collaboration and highlighted the potential for future joint missions.
