Ujjain Celebrates 105th Flower Dol Procession with Martial Displays and Krishna Lila

The Bairwa community marked the 105th anniversary of the flower‑dol procession in Ujjain, featuring akhada martial shows, religious tableaux and social messages.
Ujjain witnessed the 105th edition of the traditional flower‑dol procession, a ceremony observed by the Bairwa community on the occasion of Dol Gyars. The event began at the historic city centre and moved through the main streets, drawing large crowds of locals and visitors.
Akhadas from across the region staged martial displays, showcasing traditional wrestling, sword‑play and synchronized drills that highlighted the community’s martial heritage.
Alongside the physical feats, elaborate religious tableaux depicting scenes from Krishna Lila and other mythological narratives were set up, offering a visual narration of Hindu lore.
Organisers also used the platform to convey social messages, emphasizing unity, cultural preservation and youth empowerment. The procession concluded with a communal gathering where participants offered prayers at the local temples.
