BJP leader Mahipal Makrana warned the party of protests in the upcoming municipal polls unless it complies with his demands over the UGC rollback.
Mahipal Makrana, a senior BJP figure from Makrana in Rajasthan, has issued a stark warning to his party over the demand to roll back the University Grants Commission (UGC) decision. He said that if the party does not heed his demands, it will face organized resistance during the forthcoming municipal elections.
Makrana has called for all BJP candidates contesting the local polls to sign a written oath affirming their commitment to the UGC rollback stance. He insists that this document is essential to ensure uniformity among party nominees.
In addition, Makrana accused the BJP of functioning as a "B party" in relation to the Chief Justice of India, suggesting that the party is playing a secondary role in the larger political equation.
The leader’s ultimatum comes as the municipal election campaign intensifies, and he has hinted that non‑compliance could translate into active protest actions on the ground.
