UAE authorities have named an Omani national as the co‑pilot involved in the FlyDubai aircraft attack, underscoring escalating Middle‑East tensions.
The United Arab Emirates' interior ministry announced that an Omani citizen has been identified as the co‑pilot in the recent FlyDubai aircraft attack. The statement, released on official channels, confirmed the individual's nationality but did not disclose his name or further personal details.
The revelation comes as diplomatic and security strains intensify across the Gulf region, with several states expressing concern over cross‑border militant activities. Analysts note that naming a foreign national highlights the transnational dimension of the threat and may influence ongoing diplomatic dialogues.
UAE officials emphasized that the investigation remains active and that security agencies are working closely with Omani authorities to gather additional evidence. No further information about the motive, flight details, or casualties has been disclosed at this stage.
