Typhoon Aramb has weakened to a low‑pressure system, but heavy rain and wind alerts continue across 27 districts of Madhya Pradesh, with Anoopur recording over three inches of rainfall.

Typhoon Aramb, which once posed a significant threat to the Indian subcontinent, has weakened into a low‑pressure system as it moves away from the coast.

Despite the downgrade, meteorological authorities have issued storm‑and‑rain alerts for 27 districts in Madhya Pradesh. The alerts warn of strong winds, heavy rainfall and potential flooding.

In the Anoopur district, rainfall totals exceeded three inches, causing localized flooding and disruptions to transport routes.

Local officials have urged residents to stay indoors, secure loose objects and follow evacuation orders if necessary. Emergency services remain on standby.

The Indian Meteorological Department continues to monitor the system and will update advisories as the weather evolves.
