Jaipur police detained two young men accused of siphoning fuel from local petrol stations without payment.
Police officials in Jaipur announced the arrest of two youths who allegedly filled their vehicles with petrol from several city pumps without paying. The suspects were taken into custody after a coordinated operation by the traffic police and local law enforcement.
The incident is part of a spate of more than twenty fuel‑theft cases reported across Jaipur in recent weeks, prompting heightened vigilance at service stations. Authorities say the youths used siphoning equipment to draw fuel directly from the pumps, bypassing the payment terminals.
Investigators are now questioning the arrested individuals to ascertain the full extent of the theft network and to recover the stolen fuel value. The police have warned that anyone found tampering with fuel dispensers will face strict legal action under the Indian Penal Code and the Motor Vehicles Act.
