Two Villagers Drown in Betul's Champa River During Heavy Currents

Two villagers in Betul's Chicholi area were swept away by the strong currents of the Champa River while trying to cross a causeway on their motorcycle. Their bodies were recovered Tuesday morning.

Two residents of Betul district have tragically lost their lives after being swept away by the strong currents of the Champa River. The incident occurred in the Chicholi region when the two individuals attempted to cross a causeway on their motorcycle, which was overwhelmed by the swollen river.

The bodies of the two villagers were discovered on Tuesday morning, entangled in bushes. Following the recovery, the bodies were sent for post-mortem examination. Police have initiated an investigation into the incident.

Local authorities have issued an appeal to the public, urging them to exercise extreme caution and avoid crossing swollen rivers and causeways during periods of heavy rainfall to prevent further tragedies.
