Indian Railways has introduced two unreserved special trains between Sehore and Sant Hirdaram Nagar to accommodate the growing pilgrim crowd during the Sehore Kavad Yatra, operating until August 26.
Indian Railways responded to the surge in devotees attending the annual Sehore Kavad Yatra by deploying two additional unreserved special trains on the Sehore‑Sant Hirdaram Nagar route. The move aims to ease congestion at stations and provide affordable travel options for pilgrims.
The extra services, scheduled to run until 26 August, will operate alongside regular passenger trains, offering multiple daily departures. Each train comprises standard coaches with seating capacity for several hundred passengers, and tickets are sold on a first‑come‑first‑served basis.
Railway officials indicated that the temporary augmentation will help manage the expected footfall during the festival period and reduce crowding on existing services. They also urged travelers to book early and adhere to safety guidelines while on board.
