Two MLAs Hospitalised After Car Collides with SUV Following CNG Cylinder Blast in Delhi

A car that lost control after a CNG cylinder exploded rammed into an SUV in Delhi, injuring six people, including Kirari MLA Anil Jha and Karnataka MLA Abhay Patel.
Around 9:30 pm on Tuesday, a vehicle travelling on a Delhi road reportedly suffered a CNG cylinder explosion. The blast caused the driver to lose control, and the car ploughed into a nearby SUV.
The collision left six occupants injured. Among them were two sitting legislators – Anil Jha, MLA from the Kirari constituency, and Abhay Patel, a Karnataka‑based MLA who was visiting the capital. Both were taken to a Delhi hospital for treatment.
Delhi police confirmed that emergency services arrived promptly and that the injured, including the two MLAs, are in stable condition. Medical teams are monitoring them for any complications arising from the impact and the explosion.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the cylinder failure and to assess whether safety regulations were breached. Traffic on the affected stretch was temporarily diverted while the scene was cleared.
