Two young men on a bike claimed to be tantric priests, warned a mother that her son was afflicted by Shani Dosha, and then took her mangalsutra and earrings.
In Samastipur’s busy Ganesh Chowk, two young men riding a motorcycle approached a local woman and introduced themselves as "tantriks". They asserted that her son was suffering from Shani Dosha, a planetary affliction believed to bring misfortune, and urged her to perform a ritual to remove the curse.
The duo conducted a brief prayer session, invoking mantras and offering to cleanse the alleged negativity. During the ceremony they persuaded the woman to hand over her mangalsutra and a pair of earrings, claiming the jewellery was needed for the ritual. The items were then placed in a bag carried by the men, who left the scene on their bike.
The woman realized the deception only after the perpetrators had disappeared. She reported the incident to local authorities, who are investigating the case as a fraud and theft involving religious manipulation.
