In a significant public health milestone, two districts in Manipur have met the 95-95-95 HIV targets set by the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO).
The districts, identified by NACO as high‑priority areas, have achieved the first 95‑percent target of diagnosing 95% of all people living with HIV. The second 95% target, ensuring that 95% of those diagnosed receive antiretroviral therapy, has also been met. Finally, the third 95% target—maintaining viral suppression in 95% of those on treatment—was reached, marking a comprehensive success in the state’s HIV response. The achievement is part of NACO’s nationwide strategy to curb the spread of HIV and improve treatment outcomes. Local health officials credit increased testing, community outreach and streamlined treatment facilities for the progress.
