Two Maharashtra Youths Arrested on Bihar Railway Track Carrying Hammer, Flags and Fake ID

Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel in West Champaran detained two Maharashtra residents found roaming the Narkatia‑Betia rail line with a hammer, flags and forged identity cards.
Police of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) operating in West Champaran district, Bihar, arrested two men from Maharashtra after they were spotted moving along the Narkatia‑Betia railway section near Musaharwa Halt. The duo was found carrying a hammer, several flags and a set of counterfeit identity cards, items that were seized by the authorities.
According to the RPF, the suspects were allegedly posing as track‑maintenance workers, a claim supported by the presence of the hammer and the flags typically associated with railway staff. The fake ID cards, recovered from their possession, suggest an attempt to conceal their true identities and possibly gain unauthorized access to railway premises.
The arrested individuals have been taken into custody for further interrogation. Investigators are probing whether the incident was part of a larger scheme, such as sabotage or illegal railway activity, and are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby stations to ascertain the motive behind their presence on the tracks.
The RPF has reminded the public that tampering with railway infrastructure is a serious offence and urged anyone witnessing suspicious activity on railway property to report it immediately.
