A speeding car struck two senior women sitting at their doorstep in Padriya village, Aurangabad district, killing them on the spot; locals apprehended the driver.
On Saturday, a high‑speed vehicle entered the compound of a house in Padriya, a village under Madanpur police station in Aurangabad district, Bihar, and ran over two elderly women who were seated on the doorstep. The victims have been identified as 62‑year‑old Barati Devi and 83‑year‑old Pyari Kumar.
According to eyewitnesses, the driver failed to slow down despite the presence of the women. The impact was fatal, and both women were pronounced dead at the scene.
Villagers quickly intervened, detaining the driver until police arrived. Local authorities have taken the suspect into custody and launched an investigation into possible traffic violations and negligence.
