Two women originally from Chhattisgarh, now residing in Nepal, have been reported missing after severe flooding swept parts of the Himalayan nation.

Heavy monsoon rains have triggered widespread flooding across Nepal, submerging roads, homes and agricultural fields. Rescue teams are battling rising waters while local authorities continue to assess the damage.

Among those affected are two women who are Indian nationals from Chhattisgarh. Both are reported missing after the floodwaters swept through the area where they were staying. Their families in India have been alerted and are seeking assistance from the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu.

The Indian Embassy has confirmed that it is in contact with Nepalese officials and is monitoring the situation closely. It has urged relatives to register missing persons with local police and to provide any identifying details that could aid rescue efforts.

Authorities have warned that the situation remains fluid, with the possibility of further landslides and flash floods. Residents are being advised to stay in safe zones and avoid low‑lying areas until the waters recede.
