A venomous snake struck two brothers sleeping in a makeshift hut at Musahri, Patna, killing them, while their mother is under critical care at AIIMS Patna.
A venomous snake entered a temporary shelter in the Musahri area of Patna's Parshabazar locality during heavy rain and bit two brothers who were sleeping there. The bite proved fatal, and both men were declared dead at the scene.
The victims were identified as siblings from the same family; their mother, who was present in the hut, sustained a bite as well and was rushed to AIIMS Patna. She remains in critical condition under intensive care.
Local police and health officials arrived promptly, cordoned off the area and began a search for the offending reptile. The incident has prompted calls for increased awareness about snake hazards in densely populated slums, especially during monsoon months.
