A coal‑laden trailer on National Highway 62 near Kalanda, Nagaur, struck a motorcycle, dragged it about 200 feet and ignited, killing two young men from Bikaner district.
The Nagaur‑Bikaner stretch of National Highway 62 near the village of Kalanda in Rajasthan became the scene of a fatal road accident when a trailer loaded with coal struck a motorcycle.
According to local police, the impact forced the bike to be pulled along the carriageway for roughly 200 feet before the trailer caught fire. Both occupants of the motorcycle, identified as young men from Bikaner district, succumbed to their injuries at the spot.
Emergency services arrived promptly, but the blaze and the severity of the injuries left the victims dead. Police have sealed the area, begun an investigation into the cause of the collision, and are reviewing safety measures on the heavily trafficked highway segment.
