Police in Hanumangarh, Rajasthan, detained two individuals suspected of possessing heroin valued at approximately ₹50 lakh.
Police officials in Hanumangarh district announced that two suspects were taken into custody after a raid uncovered heroin estimated to be worth ₹50 lakh. The operation, carried out by local law‑enforcement agencies, was part of an ongoing effort to curb narcotics trafficking in the region.
According to the police statement, the seized heroin was packaged in small bundles and concealed in a vehicle that the suspects were using. Preliminary assessments by forensic experts placed the street value of the drug at around fifty lakh rupees, marking one of the larger drug busts reported in the state this year.
The two detainees have been forwarded to the district jail and will appear before the magistrate within the next 48 hours. Investigators said they are probing the source of the narcotics and have launched a broader inquiry to identify any networks involved in the supply chain.
