A resident of Junagav village filed a complaint alleging that two men tried to induce conversion by offering monthly money, clothing and free medical care, leading to their arrest.

Police in the Ranapur police station area of Jabalpur district have detained two individuals following a complaint that they attempted to coerce religious conversion in Junagav village, Jhābua. The complainant alleges that the accused offered a monthly incentive of one thousand rupees, clothing, and promises of free medical treatment for the family to persuade victims to change their faith.

According to the filing, the alleged scheme relied on continuous financial and material inducements, creating pressure on the targeted individuals. The police registered the case under sections pertaining to forced conversion and harassment, and the two suspects were taken into custody for further investigation.

Local authorities have not disclosed the identities of the arrested persons, nor have they provided details on any legal proceedings that may follow. The investigation remains ongoing as officials seek to verify the claims and determine whether additional charges are warranted.
