Two 10‑year‑old children who went missing on Oct 4 were discovered dead on Tuesday evening in a water‑filled mine in Bhilwara’s Paladi area, with police suspecting drowning.
Two 10‑year‑old children, reported missing three days ago, were found dead on Tuesday evening inside a water‑filled mine located in the Paladi region of Bhilwara, Rajasthan. The bodies were recovered by police teams after a search operation in the flooded shaft.
The children had left their home on 4 October to play in the neighbourhood and did not return, prompting relatives to file a missing‑person report. Both were aged ten, and their disappearance sparked a community‑wide search effort.
Local police, upon examining the scene, indicated that drowning is the most likely cause of death and have opened a formal investigation to confirm the circumstances. Forensic teams have been dispatched to collect evidence from the mine.
Residents of the area expressed shock and grief, calling for better safety measures around abandoned or unused mines that can collect water during the monsoon season.
