A by‑election in Tamil Nadu has pitted rival candidate TVK against the ruling DMK, turning the contest into a high‑stakes battle.
The Election Commission scheduled a by‑poll in a Tamil Nadu constituency following the vacancy of the seat.
Two major contenders, TVK, a prominent local leader, and the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), have emerged as the front‑runners, each campaigning vigorously across the region.
Analysts note that the close contest reflects broader political dynamics in the state, with both sides seeking to gauge voter sentiment ahead of upcoming state elections.
