Supporters of Tamil Nadu leader Vijay displayed placards proclaiming him as the next Prime Minister during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's event in Chennai.
During Prime Minister Narendra Modi's public appearance in Chennai, a group of supporters associated with Tamil Nadu politician Vijay unfurled placards that read "CM Vijay next PM". The placards were prominently displayed as the Prime Minister addressed the gathering, drawing attention from the crowd.
The slogans on the placards emphasized the supporters' belief that Vijay, currently serving as a chief minister, should be considered for the country's top political office. No official response was recorded from Modi's team or the central government regarding the demand.
Local media noted that the supporters belong to the TVK faction, a regional political outfit that often aligns itself with broader national narratives. While the rally continued without interruption, the incident highlighted the ongoing aspirations of regional leaders to play a larger role on the national stage.
No further statements were issued by Vijay or the TVK leadership at the time of reporting.
