Tripura ULB Elections: 324 Nomination Papers Filed by Day Two, Major Parties Awaiting

On the second day of the nomination filing window, the Election Commission of India recorded 324 applications for the Tripura Urban Local Body elections. The submissions cover all 18 municipal councils and 3 municipal corporations across the state. Despite the high number of entries, the three major national and regional parties—Bharatiya Janata Party, Tipra Motha, and Indigenous People's Front of Tripura—have not yet filed any nominations, leaving their participation uncertain. Election officials expect the final tally to rise as the deadline approaches on 31st March.
