Tripura to Deploy Over 10,000 Security Personnel for Durga Puja Festivities

The Tripura police chief announced that more than 10,000 officers will be on duty throughout the Durga Puja celebrations to ensure public safety.
Tripura’s Director General of Police (DGP) disclosed that a force of over 10,000 security personnel will be mobilised across the state during the upcoming Durga Puja days. The deployment aims to manage the large influx of devotees, ensure crowd control, and prevent any untoward incidents during the week-long festivities.
The police plan to station officers at major pandals, entry points, and transport hubs, while also coordinating with local municipal bodies and private security firms. Additional units from neighboring states have been put on standby to provide rapid assistance if required.
Officials highlighted that the heightened security posture follows a review of past celebrations, where occasional disturbances and traffic snarls were reported.
