The Tripura government’s minister inspected ongoing schemes and announced a new Rs 24.21 crore Batisata project aimed at boosting regional development.

Tripura’s senior minister conducted a field review of several state‑run welfare schemes on Monday, meeting officials and beneficiaries to assess implementation progress. During the visit, the minister disclosed a fresh infrastructure initiative named the Batisata project, earmarked with a budget of Rs 24.21 crore.

The Batisata project is slated to improve connectivity and basic amenities in the Batisata region, which has lagged behind in development indicators. Officials said the funds will be channelled through existing government channels to ensure timely execution.

State authorities emphasized that the new project aligns with Tripura’s broader agenda of rural upliftment and infrastructure modernization. The minister reiterated the government’s commitment to transparent monitoring of all schemes to maximize public benefit.

Local representatives welcomed the announcement, noting that the infusion of capital could generate employment opportunities and stimulate local economies. The project is expected to commence within the next quarter, subject to standard clearances.

The review also highlighted successes and challenges of earlier schemes, providing a roadmap for corrective measures ahead of the upcoming fiscal year.
